Fall brings a festive season of family fun, and pumpkin patches abound in Middle Tennessee. From picking your perfect porch pumpkin to finding your way through a corn maze, visit one of these local farms to get you into the spirit!

AMAZE N CORN

This working farm has all kinds of things for kids to see and do. Enjoy live animals, slides, hayrides, the giant rolled hay maze, train rides, pumpkin patch and all sorts of children’s activities. All activities take place on weekends. If you’re planning to go on a weekday, call ahead to see what activities will be available that day.

Kids have fun cheering for their favorite swine in the Hillbilly Pig Races, too! This year’s country music corn maze features Charles Esten. Honeysuckle Hill is also home to Scream Creek Haunted Woods & House of Terror β€” creepy, frightful fun for older kids who love an awesome scare (Scream Creek is NOT suitable for young children). Honeysuckle’s fall festival season includes several special events, so mark your calendars for these (included with farm admission):

β€’ Sept. 30: Hometown Hero Day β€” a tribute to Middle Tennessee’s firemen, police, and active and retired military.

β€’ Sept. 30: Third Annual Fireworks Show β€” A 30-minute professional show to add lots of spark to your season.

β€’ Oct. 28: Trick-or-Treat Fest β€” Kids can wear their costumes and collect candy in a safe environment.

β€’ Oct. 28: Halloween Movie Night β€” Bring your blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy an outdoor screening of Beetlejuice.

β€’ Nov. 4: Pumpkin Destruction Festival β€” This no-pumpkin-left-behind mission invites kids to join Farmer Jeff to smash, trash and blow up all the farm’s leftover pumpkins.

Middle Tennessee’s largest petting farm features hundreds of friendly animals, including goats, chickens, rabbits, pigs, sheep, llamas, alpacas, ducks, cows, donkeys, horses and more. More than 75 activities are available for kids of all ages in the AG-venture Fun Park area.

Lucky Ladd’s corn maze has a new design this year paying homage to the Nashville Predators. It comes with a challenge β€” Everyone who conquers the maze by finding six hidden checkpoints inside it will be entered to win an iPad mini! A winner will be randomly drawn in November. Aside from the Master Challenge, the corn maze features two other fun games for kids: FSI – Who Dunit? and Animal Tracks – Who Stole the Farmer’s Pie?

Select your pumpkins in the patch. Prices range from 75 cents to $10. Additional fun includes pony rides ($5), Pumpkin Slingshots (2 shots for $2, 5 for $3) Corn Cannon (2 shots for $2, 5 for $3) and Bullseye Archery (12 arrows for $5).

Kids can meet and get pictures with Spookley the Square Pumpkin on Oct. 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 & 29.

Be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, Oct 28 for the annual Pumpkin Princess & Corn Maze King Pageant starting at 11 a.m. Ages 12 months – 10 years can participate in age-specific contests with prizes for each age grouping ranging up to $300.
