“America the Beautiful” Train Exhibit at Cheekwood
August 15 - November 19
$13 – $26
All aboard for an epic summer adventure at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens — no packing required! Now through September 6, 2026, families can travel coast to coast through America’s most iconic landmarks and national parks at America the Beautiful: National Parks & Landmarks By Rail. This is the largest and most elaborate model train exhibition ever presented at Cheekwood.
As part of Cheekwood’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday, this outdoor experience takes you on a miniature rail journey across the country, winding through some of our nation’s most beloved destinations. Sprawling across the center lawn of the Bradford Robertson Color Garden, the exhibit features 10 running trains. Included are more than 850 feet of track, and 25 handcrafted models of famous landmarks and national parks. Each miniature masterpiece is carefully created from natural materials, making it just as impressive up close as it is from afar.
Highlights include:
A 22-foot-long Golden Gate Bridge
A Statue of Liberty crafted from palm leaves
Tennessee favorites like the Ryman Auditorium and Graceland
Smoky Mountain treasures including Cable Mill, John Oliver Cabin, and Little Greenbrier School
And parents, don’t forget to bring the kids! This is the kind of exhibit that sparks imagination, inspires curiosity, and keeps little train lovers wide-eyed from start to finish. While you’re exploring Cheekwood, be sure to stop by the beloved year-round TRAINS! exhibit in the Turner Seasons Garden for even more locomotive fun.
NOTE: Cheekwood is closed on Mondays. Tickets are on sale now at cheekwood.org. Reserving a timed-entry ticket in advance is required for all guests.
