Where Every Family Matters

Booktacular Event to Feature Free Family Frights

The first 300 children at the Booktacular will receive two free books, thanks to generous donations by the Friends of the Brentwood Library.

’Tis the season to be spooky, and families seeking a fun and educational way to get in the holiday spirit can do so this weekend at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library.

The Friends of the Brentwood Library will host its fourth annual Booktacular event at the library on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 3 to 5 p.m. The Booktacular brings children and families together in a safe, welcoming environment where they can explore one of our community’s greatest educational resources while also scaring up a great time.

The event starts in the lobby and is intended for children 12 and under. It will feature 15 treat stations located throughout the library, a photo-op area, and a skele-ton of fun. The first 300 children at the Booktacular will also receive two free books, thanks to generous donations by the Friends of the Brentwood Library and Ingram Books. Costumes will be admired but not required.

“We are so excited to welcome everyone to our fourth Booktacular,” Booktacular Chair and FOBL Past President Kathy Dooley-Smith said. “We hope to see you there!”

The event has grown in popularity each year since its inception. Last year’s Booktacular brought over 600 attendees to the library.
