Where Every Family Matters

Boro BBQ Festival Returns May 13

This finger-lickin' fun time takes place on the grounds of Oaklands Mansion!

The coals are getting fired up for the 2023 Boro BBQ Festival on the historic grounds of Oaklands Mansion (900 N Maney Ave, Murfreesboro TN) on Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Smell the smoke and join in a rib eating contest. In addition, watch some of the area’s top cookers compete in the Kansas City Barbecue Association Brawl. The event features live bands and performances, a craft beer garden, an arts & crafts show, a family zone and a high school steak competition.

Can you eat BBQ?

Yes! And No. As dedicated Kansas City BBQ Association competitors, they cannot share their competition ‘Que with the public. However, you can eat BBQ, Hot Dogs, Kettle Corn and a plethora of other food for sale by vendors.

If you’re really coming for the Competition BBQ, you can participate in the People’s Choice competition. Many of competitors elect to compete in this voluntary event where their aim is to please YOU. Check out the People’s Choice tent for more information. Participation costs $10 and the competitors will get a trophy, cash prize and bragging rights. They take whatever they put on their smokers seriously.

Family Zone

Hop on some inflatables, pet a goat, sheep, or zebra or get your face painted. Some activities have a small admission fee while others are free.
