The Center for the Arts has auditions coming up in May ... better start preparing for the part you really want as singing and dancing is involved!

You can be in the spotlight on stage at Center for the Arts in Murfreesboro. Prepare now for the upcoming auditions for Ragtime: The Musical. Three characters — an upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician — are united by their desire and belief in a brighter tomorrow. The play is set in turn-of-the-century New York. The show is scheduled to run July 7 – 23.

Auditions

They’re looking for a multi-ethnic/racial cast in all ages. Adults, older teens and even a few young children are open to the auditions. They’re looking to fill roles for about 30 adults/older teens and about three featured children in addition to three to six additional children ages 8 – 14. The entire cast will be singing so in the production. Audition take place at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 7 and Monday, May 8. For your audition, bring a one-minute song. The song can be from the show or in the style of the show. An accompanist is provided, but you must bring sheet music in your key. Find the long list of characters on their website.
