The Cooper Trooper Pumpkin Patch returns for its 16th year October 18 – 31 at 530 Cool Springs Boulevard, Franklin.
The community-favorite pumpkin patch is much bigger than pumpkins, however, originating in 2009 after Rod and Missy Cook’s youngest son, Cooper, was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called Infantile Fibrosarcoma at the age of 8 weeks.
Now, this special fundraiser continues to help families who have been diagnosed with childhood cancer through the Cooper Trooper Foundation (a 501(c)3 non-profit).
“It is because of our volunteers, generous sponsors, and the thousands of customers who purchase their “pumpkin for a purpose” that we are able to continue doing what we do to help these families whose worlds have been turned upside down by childhood cancer,” the foundation states.
100% of profit from the patch fundraiser goes toward fulfilling the mission of childhood cancer research and sibling support. Over the past 16 years, the Pumpkin Patch has raised over $435,000 for childhood cancer research at Vanderbilt University.
