Our professional, responsive full service doula team provides support and expertise to you and your family as you transition to life with your newborn. All of our doulas are fully certified including infant CPR with background checks on file. But most importantly, they each have a true heart to serve. Our individualized approach contributes to the success of our clients and sets us apart in the Franklin and Greater Nashville area.
Labor support is available throughout your pregnancy. Our certified birth doulas will help you create an individualized birth plan focused on your wishes for an ideal birth. Your doula will meet with you several times to discuss questions and concerns throughout the pregnancy. Then she will be “on call” for two weeks before and after your due date (weeks 38-42) to assist with physical support during labor.
Our postpartum shifts are individualized to meet the needs of each family we work with. This might include an extra set of hands during the day to get things done including light household chores, organizing baby items, sibling care, and feeding support for both nursing and bottle fed babies. Or we can provide overnight care so that parents can get a good night’s rest knowing their baby is in very capable hands.
Our certified sleep consultant will create an individualized sleep plan for families with various levels of support from entirely virtual to intensive in-home support. The plans include unlimited text and email support to help guide you through the process. In a short time, your child will have the confidence to independently fall and stay asleep.
A LITTLE ABOUT LAURA
I am a certified birth and postpartum doula, as well as a pediatric sleep consultant and owner of Southern Doula Services. I am originally from RI where I spent 15 years teaching kindergarten and first grade until we relocated to TN. Throughout my progression to becoming a doula and ultimately starting my own agency, I have been able to blend my heart for educating with my passion for newborns and their families. As a mother of four, I know first hand how challenging it can be. It is my mission to enhance the overall well-being of our families and the community through education, comfort, and support during pregnancy, childbirth and the early parenting years. When I am not snuggling babies, I enjoy traveling with my husband and four adult children (especially if a beach is involved). Southern Doula Services would not be possible without the amazing support of my family. So thank you to them from the bottom of my heart.
