This July, a little more music, movement, and magic is coming to Murfreesboro.
Spotlighters Show Choir Camp makes its Nashville-area debut July 6–10 at Middle Tennessee State University, inviting students entering 1st through 12th grade to spend a week discovering what happens when creativity and confidence collide.
At Spotlighters, campers don’t just learn songs and choreography. They learn how to shine.
Each day, students work with experienced teaching artists and counselors as they rehearse high-energy show choir numbers, build stage presence, and develop the teamwork that brings a performance to life. Along the way, they gain skills that extend far beyond the stage, confidence, communication, leadership, and the joy of creating something together.
Campers are grouped by age so everyone can learn at the right pace while still feeling part of the larger camp community. Younger students explore the fundamentals of singing, movement, and performance through playful rehearsals and team activities. Older students dive deeper into vocal technique, choreography, and ensemble performance.
The week builds toward a final showcase on Friday evening where families and friends see the music, choreography, and friendships that have taken shape in just five days.
Spotlighters first launched in 2024, bringing together students from 26 different schools for its first summer and sparking a community that continues to grow each year. Now, Nashville-area families will get their chance to experience the energy firsthand.
Whether a student is already involved in choir or theater, or simply loves to sing, dance, and perform, Spotlighters offers a welcoming environment where students support one another, grow in confidence, and discover the power of performing together.
For many campers, the stage is just the beginning. What they carry home is a little more courage, a few new friendships, and the realization that their light shines brighter when they share it.
