The annual Middle Tennessee Highland Games & Celtic Festival takes place on Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7 at Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville.

This annual festival brings together families to celebrate the Scottish and Celtic traditions — some of which played a part in settling the state of Tennessee. Past attendees have even found a piece of their own ancestry after talking with some of the 60 Scottish families/clans at the festival.

There will be a full slate of music, including solo piping, drumming and pipe band competitions. In addition, national touring bands and local artists will play throughout the day for a full weekend of music for attendees to enjoy.

For the kids!

Tickets include a kids’ cultural activity area with mini Celtic games, crafts and activities, including:

Storytime with Merida – 10 a.m. & 2 p.m.
Dragon-themed crafts, stickers and temporary tattoos
Kids athletic demos including caber toss, haggis toss and sheaf toss
Games including tug of war, kids golf and archery
Face painting
