Nashville Symphony Opening Weekend: New World Symphony with David Robertson
September 20, 2025 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
$29
Celebrate the launch of the Nashville Symphony’s 2025/26 season with a program led by visionary conductor and composer David Robertson. Experience Dvořák’s beloved “New World” Symphony, inspired by his trip to America in the 1890s when he directed the National Conservatory of Music of America. Gifted pianist Orli Shaham performs the luminous Light forming, a new concerto written especially for her by Robertson. Debussy’s dreamy Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun completes this evocative program of new and familiar worlds. The concerts take place on Friday, Sept. 19 and Saturday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. at Schermerhorn Symphony Center (1 Symphony Place, Nashville). Tickets start at $29.
