Wishing Chair Puppet Shows
Description
See Wishing Chair Productions’ live puppet shows on Tuesdays at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. The show’s running time is 30-45 minutes and recommended for kids ages 0 – 6, but all ages are welcome. Story Time is presented in the Children’s Theater at Nashville Public Library (615 Church St., Nashville). Join Professor, Library Pete, MaryMary and their puppet friends to sing, juggle and read.
At a time when many libraries have eliminated puppetry from their offerings, Wishing Chair is going strong under the deft leadership of Brian Hull.
WISHING CHAIR HISTORY
Tom Tichenor started putting on shows for the Nashville Public Library in 1938, at age 15. Hull inherited Tichenor’s marionettes, and he’s been the city’s master of puppetry ever since. See the full schedule of story times at Nashville’s Main Library branch and at other Middle Tennessee branches. Today, families can stream puppet shows.
