The Franklin Theatre has announced its 2023 holiday movie schedule for the Halloween and Christmas seasons.
The Fear Fest! series features a number of spooky favorites beginning on Monday, Oct. 9 with the Oscar Best Picture-winning The Silence of the Lambs.Β
For those not as into ghouls and goblins, the Christmas lineup kicks off the weekend after Thanksgiving with a number of festive classics.
Alongside the holiday screenings, the Theatre announced a special 45-minute preview screening of Ken Burns’ new documentaryΒ The American BuffaloΒ on Sept. 25.
The event, hosted by Tracy Frist, will include a Q&A moderated by Sen. Bill Frist featuring the film’s writer Dayton Duncan,Β executive director of the Southern Grasslands Institute Dr. Dwayne Estes, and historian and Pulitzer Prize winner Jon Meacham.Β All proceeds from the event will go to non-profit organizations The Better Angels Society, the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County and Nashville Public Television.
