Where Every Family Matters

“Goodnight with Dolly” Online Storybook Readings

For Nine More Weeks, Nashville's One and Only Dolly Reads Bedtime Storybooks on Thursdays at 6 p.m. CT. Get the book list.

Leave it to Dolly Parton to come to the rescue and encourage us to keep the faith during these trying times. Parton's 10-week "Goodnight with Dolly" video series for children is one week in.

In conjunction with her Imagination Library, "The Book Lady" aims to offer children "a welcomed distraction during a time of unrest."

"This is something I have been wanting to do for quite a while, but the timing never felt quite right," Parton says. "I think it's pretty clear that now is the time to share a story and to share some love," she adds.

All of the books that Parton will read during the 10-week series are part of her Imagination Library collection. The books featured in the series include:

There’s a Hole in the Log on the Bottom of the Lake by Loren Long
Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney
I Am a Rainbow by Parton
Pass It On by Sophy Henn
Stand Tall, Molly Lou Mellon by Patty Lovell
Violet the Pilot by Steve Breen
Max & The Tag-Along Moon by Floyd Cooper
Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Peña
Coat of Many Colors by Parton
The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper

“It is an honor for me to share the incredible talent of these authors and illustrators,” Parton says. “They make us smile, they make us laugh and they make us think.”

Parton's bedtime readings will happen at 6 p.m. CST, and you can access them on the Imagination Library's YouTube page.
