Where Every Family Matters

LEGO Brings “Play Ball Tour” to the Nashville Sounds on Father’s Day Weekend

Make it a Father's Day to remember with LEGOs, the Nashville Sounds and Dad BY RYAN TILLMAN for "Summer in the City"

Here’s a great option for Father’s Day weekend (June 16 – 18, 2017). Take Dad out to the ballgame for LEGO’s “Play Ball Tour” at First Tennessee Park! Nashville was selected as one of just 15 U.S. cities to host the tour. The “Play Ball” initiative at the park lets families build structures out of LEGOS, take photos, and even compete in toy car races before the night’s first pitch. The Sounds say families can expect “giveaways, prizes, special in-game LEGO content” and more.
There’s more to know about the Nashville Sounds as summer gets into gear, too. The minor league affiliate of the Oakland Athletics is 40 years old this year. And, just off last year’s first-place finish in the Pacific Coast League’s American Southern Division, the Sounds now have a chance to finish with one of their best records in franchise history.

Sounds’ Booster Kids Club & More

Give a lift to your child’s summer Sounds’ experience with a Booster’s Kids Club membership ($20 a child). Membership includes two General Admission tickets to any three Sunday games during the season, a t-shirt and access to the Fun Zone. In the Fun Zone, kids can test their baseball throwing speed or play on the bouncy house with other kids. Birthday parties can be scheduled with groups of 10 or more, including food, ice cream and a present for the birthday child.

Apart from fun and games, letting your kids experience their first baseball game is an important part of growing up. As a child looks onto the field, gazing intently at their new role models running from base to base, they begin to dream. “This could be me one day!” they exclaim in their minds. Every little league game or home-run derby in the cul-de-sac becomes an imaginative catalyst for what your child may achieve one day.

Give your family (and Dad) a summer outing with the potential to imprint a lasting impact on your children by checking out the Nashville Sounds at First Tennessee Park — and get your tickets to the LEGO “Play Ball Tour” for Father’s Day!
