Just for Kids
Grammy-nominated Ralph Covert of Ralph’s World fame (ralphsworld.com) anchors the kids’ line up this year. Covert recently launched his new CD, Time Machine Guitar
, and he’ll perform his songs to get kids dancing on the spot. Also on the kids’ stage: Red Yarn (folk music and puppetry); Steve Elci and Friends (pop and participation); Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers (pirate fun) and others.
Kids can sample Go Go Squeeze yogurt and wear a wristband (with space for your phone number in case they get lost). Kids can also create glow-in-the-dark “sound bracelets” in the expanded arts area, courtesy of the Frist Center for Visual Arts.
“We’ve expanded our activities stage, renaming it ‘Storyville,' Covert says, "And we’ll have a full slate of activities and workshops for young guests, including sessions in kids’ improv, puppet and magic shows, and a kids’ songwriting workshop.”
Returning to the festival are the popular pirate play ship, face painting, balloon fun and The Mom Spot for nursing mothers courtesy of Baby & Co
The Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival is at The Park at Harlinsdale (239 Franklin Road, Franklin). Parking passes are sold out. Purchase tickets and see FAQs at pilgrimagefestival.com.
