Raise a mug to fall! Oktoberfest is happening at Oaklands Mansion this month, but be aware that the only place you can get tickets is on the website. This, along with a few minor adjustments will ensure that attendees and staff members working the event will remain safe.
Oaklands and presenting sponsor First Bank are hosting Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 3 - 7 p.m. A bevvy of local breweries will be on hand for the sampling: Beared Iris Brewing, Cedar Glade Brews, Cheap Ass Bastard Brewing, Dark Humor Brewing, Deep South Growlers, Emerald Abbey Brewing, Illuzion Meads, Mayday Brewery, Mid-State Brew Crew, Mid-State Brewsters, Mos Alesley Brewing, Rubidium Brewing Co., Smackdab Brewing and Spring Street Brew Garage make for a lot of craft beer on hand! You'll also be able to sample food from FitzWilly's, That's My Dawg or Catarina's.
Since Oktoberfest is an outdoor event, guests are welcome to bring chairs and blankets and are encouraged (although not required) to wear face masks. Organizers are asking all attendees to follow all state, local and federal guidelines for COVID-19.
Admission for craft beer drinkers ages 21 and older is $40; admission for designated drivers ages 17 and older is $20; students and children ages 16 and younger are free.
