The Children’s Hospital at TriStar Centennial now serves Middle Tennessee families in a whole new way. Its brand-new pediatric ER is now open adjacent to The Children’s Hospital.
About the New Pediatric ER
Full-time pediatric emergency medicine doctors staff the 6,000-square-foot facility. The pediatric ER houses seven beds, and it boasts cutting-edge equipment aiding in the care of kids. The ER is the result of a substantial increase in the number of pediatric patients at TriStar Centennial’s main emergency room.
“As an ER doctor and as a mom, I know how important it is to have access to fast and convenient child-specific emergency care,” says Sheila McMorrow, M.D., pediatric ER medical director at The Children’s Hospital. “Children have unique medical needs, and the opening of our new, state-of-the-art, full-service, child-friendly pediatric emergency department will help ensure kids and their parents have greater access to high-quality, pediatric emergency care,” she adds.
Joann Ettien, chief operating officer at The Children’s Hospital, says Nashville’s rapid growth makes it more important than ever for Centennial to expand it’s children’s services. “I am so proud to announce the opening of our new pediatric ER. Day or night, this facility will deliver superior care tailored to the specific needs of pediatric patients,” Ettien says.
