Your local library encourages kids to keep reading in June and July with 2021 Summer Reading Programs. Libraries all over the area offer reading reward programs for kids and adults in some areas – all you need is a library card!

The largest library system in Middle Tennessee is Nashville Public Library. The library recently changed the non-resident policy and you can now get a library card for free even if you do not live in Davidson County. There is a $10 annual charge if you want access to the library’s digital collection (e-books, audio books).

DAVIDSON COUNTY

Nashville Summer Reading Program 
The summer reading challenge kicks off April 30 and runs through August 21, 2021. Earn points by completing activities and then cash your points in for prizes.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY

Linebaugh Library System
This year’s theme is “Tales and Tails” and starts May 18, 2021 and runs through July 3.

LaVergne Public Library
“Tales and Tails” Summer Reading Program June 5 – July 17, 2021. Drive thru kickoff event on June 5 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

SUMNER COUNTY

Hendersonville Library
Join the library for a “Tales and Tails” this summer! The hybrid summer reading program begins June 5, 2021. 

WILLIAMSON COUNTY

Williamson County Library System (Bethesda, College Grove, Fairview, Franklin, Leiper's Fork, Nolensville)
Kick off the "Tails and Tales" Summer Reading Program by building a LEGO creation based on your favorite book with an animal character. This event is open to children ages 3-12 with three age categories: 3-5 years, 6-8 years and 9-12 years. Public viewing and voting will be June 1-5 with the winners announced on June 11.

Brentwood Public Library

Spring Hill Public Library
Find out all about Spring Hill's exciting Summer Reading Program, Tails & Tales, from May 22 - June 26! Prize redemption June 28 - 29. All programs will be held online this summer. Check the Library's FB page and newsletter for details.
