If you're the proud parents of a brand-new baby, congratulations! There's a world of fun and discovery ahead of you. In fact, you might consider learning infant massage along the way.
BENEFITS OF INFANT MASSAGE
The benefits of infant massage are bountiful. It provides fun interaction with your baby that promotes bonding, secure attachment, verbal and non-verbal communication, sensory stimulation, feelings of love and beyond.
According to the International Association of Infant Massage
(IAIM), each massage may stimulate the following:
• circulatory and digestive systems
• hormonal and immune systems
• coordination and balance
• learning and concentration
• muscular development and growth
• mind and body awareness
There's more! Infant massage can help relieve common issues like gas, colic, constipation and elimination, muscular tension and cramps. Baby's sleep patterns may improve, and he may have a calmer demeanor — all good stuff!
