Glamping — it’s high time, and you know you want to try it. The South has caught up with what started out West, so now there’s no good reason to say you don’t like camping! Meanwhile, it’s not easy to get away with your crew, so planning ahead is key. While eyeing your upcoming summer calendar, build in a new adventure. Do it with gal pals or family. Gatlinburg, Tenn.
Stay in one of Camp LeConte’s tree houses high above the ground. Your tree house includes a queen bed for two adults plus a loft, a bathroom, covered patio, fan, cooler with ice, toiletries and more. $149 a night. Also available: safari tents with beds and amenities for two, four or six people.

Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
Opening for the season on April 4, Glamping gets better in Tennessee when Under Canvas Smoky Mountains opens this summer. Glamping options include Deluxe tents with adjacent tipis (so you can have a separate space from the kids!); tent suites; a Stargazer tent with a viewing window above a king-size bed; and several options in other Safari tents.
