See how death was celebrated, honored and remembered in the 1870s through a mock funeral. Plus, learn how death masks were made.

TRICKS AND TREATS WITH THE VILLAINS

A not-so-scary VIP event in the woodlands where you’ll witness the magical arrival of favorite villain characters and enjoy hot chocolate, cider and snacks. Does not include admission to Castle of Villains.

FIRE FEST

The Gallatin Volunteer Fire Department hosts a day of activities that include a kids’ carnival area with face painting, games, a maze and a bounce castle.

HALLOWEEN IN THE PARK

The fun includes a DJ, games, a costume contest, storytelling and trick-or-treating. Adults and teens are not to wear masks, and clown costumes are only allowed on very young children.

A night tour through the grounds with historical interpreters dressed in 1700s attire, followed by live music, a hay ride and refreshments.

EL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

This Latin American “Day of the Dead” festival features traditional dance, colorful art activities, authentic food, altar displays and shopping in the marketplace. New this year: Middle and high school student groups will create chalk-based murals on site portraying aspects of the holiday.

NASHVILLE SYMPHONY’S FREE DAY OF MUSIC
Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Nashville
Saturday, Oct. 27
Enjoy 25 musical performances including the Nashville Symphony, Nashville Salsa Machine and more. There’s also an outdoor beer garden along with Halloween- and El Dia de los Muertos-themed activities including face painting and costume contests.
