Studio Tenn Announces 2023-24 Season

A rockin' season opener, a Southern classic, a holiday favorite and more for theater company's newest season.

Studio Tenn’s 2023 – 24 season will be the first where all of the Franklin-based theater  productions will be mounted at the company’s Turner Theater at the Factory.
“This is undoubtedly Studio Tenn’s most anticipated season to date as we officially open Turner Theater,” says Todd Morgan, Studio Tenn’s managing director. “A permanent home is something we’ve been working towards for many years, and we wanted to bring a true celebration of theater featuring multiple ‘iconic’ productions and artists.”

Million Dollar Quartet
Oct. 19 – 29, 2023

Studio Tenn’s 14th season opens with a rock ’n’ roll experience. On Dec. 4, 1956, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins gathered to jam for the night. A newspaper man on the scene wrote, ‘This quartet could sell a million’ and soon they were dubbed the “Million Dollar Quartet.” The show includes more than 20 chart-topping hits.

It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play
Dec. 7 – 17, 2023

Set on a snowy Christmas Eve inside a radio station, an ensemble of five actors brings the iconic town of Bedford Falls to life. The story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds in a unique theatrical experience as he considers ending his life.

Driving Miss Daisy 
March 7 – 17, 2024

The story follows the decades-long relationship between a strong-willed, well-to-do Jewish woman and her black chauffeur in Jim Crow South. What begins as a troubled and hostile pairing soon blossoms into a life-altering relationship that transcends all societal boundaries. Playwright Alfred Uhry’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play poignantly explores the transformative power of true friendship.

Cabaret
May 9 – 19, 2024

Studio Tenn closes the season with one of the most successful musicals of all time. This John Kander and Fred Ebb show is about a British nightclub singer, an American writer, a leering and flamboyant emcee and the decadence of 1929 Berlin, Germany. As fears mount about the rising Third Reich, uncertainty grows outside the club and life inside grows more and more beautiful.
