The Arts Center of Cannon County is not too far from the Rutherford County line. In fact, many families drive the 15 – 20 minutes just to see a show. But, did you know they offer a summer arts program for kids?
Summer Arts Program
Summer Youth Conservatory at the Arts Center focuses on the development of life skills through participation in the arts. In addition to classes, this program offers the opportunity for all participants to appear on stage in a production at the end of each session. Students audition for various roles in performances. Every student performs on the stage, too, during a performance on July 22 at 10 a.m. This is great way to be seen on stage by Arts Center directors. The Arts Center offers classes in Fundamentals of Acting / Advanced Acting, Creative Movement / Dance and Voice / Music.
The senior session is for students in grades 7 – 12 and runs July 10 – 21 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily. Download the registration form online and mail it to the center. Cost is $225.
