A new theatrical offering launches next month in Sumner County. The Sumner Plays Fine Arts Festival is a joint effort between Actors Point Theatre and the Conasauga Shakespeare Coalition.
The inaugural festival takes place July 5 – 6 with a performance of Henry V — Shakespeare's historic tale about King Henry V of England, focusing on the events immediately before and after the Battle of Agincourt during the Hundred Years War. The performance takes place on the grounds of Historic Rock Castle (139 Rock Castle Lane, Hendersonville) at 7:30 p.m. You can bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and coolers to enjoy the show. Tickets are $10 – $20 adults, $5 ages 10 and younger, $25 for a carload of four.
Before the performance, though, there are four educational class options you ane your kids can enjoy as part of the festival.
