Where Every Family Matters

The Center for the Arts Presents ‘Rent’

'RENT' is set to open Friday, February 10 at The Center for the Arts.

The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical RENT hits the stage at Center of the Arts in Murfreesboro beginning Friday, Feb. 10 through Sunday, Feb. 26. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

“This cast is truly amazing. The vocal talent will blow you away,” shares Keri Boe, the show’s Director, and the Center’s Main Stage Director. “It is rare you get a full cast of story tellers. There are 19 people on stage and each one of them exudes emotion and will make the audience feel everything they are putting out there.”

About RENT

Based on Puccini’s beloved opera La Bohème, RENT follows the ups and downs of a year in the life of a group of impoverished, artistic friends living in Manhattan’s East Village. The group’s dreams, losses and love stories weave through the musical’s narration to paint a stunningly raw and emotional portrait of the gritty bohemian world of New York City in the late 1980s.

“While Rent may be 27 years old, the message is still relevant today. It is about acceptance, not just of others, but of yourself,” Boe cotinues. “It about caring for others and being who you are. We only have one life to live and regardless of your personal circumstances, you have to live it to the fullest.

*NOTE: RENT is rated R for language, adult content and drug use.
