Top THINGS TO DO with Kids this Weekend

The Kids Arts Festival of Tennessee! Plus, "PAW Patrol Live" at TPAC, Nashville Ballet's "Carnival of the Animals" and lots more in store for kids this weekend.

Saturday, March 23

Come out to Pinkerton Park (405 Murfreesboro Road, Franklin) for the 9th annual festival celebrating art from Tennessee kids! The event will feature art on display, as well as stage performances, demonstrations and more from 10 a.m. ā€“ 2 p.m.

 

Saturday, March 23

Join the Nashville Ballet for a day filled with family-friendly fun at Martin Center for Nashville Ballet (3630 Redmon Street, Nashville)! Experience a performance ofĀ Carnival of the AnimalsĀ by the artists of NB2, engaging story times, up-beat movement activities, creative crafts, games, and so much more at this uniquely Nashville Ballet event! Recommended for ages 2 and older. Tickets start at $25.

 

Friday, March 22 – Sunday, March 24

Itā€™s Pirate Day in Adventure Bay, and Mayor Goodway is getting ready for a big celebration! But first, Ryder and his team of pirate pups must rescue Capā€™n Turbot from a mysterious cavern. When they do, they also discover a secret pirate treasure map! The PAW Patrol set out over land and sea to find the treasure for Mayor Goodwayā€™s celebration before Mayor Humdinger finds it first! The pups will need all paws on deck for this pirate adventure, including some help from the newest pup ā€¦ Tracker!

 

Saturday, March 23 – Sunday, March 24

The Flopsy Bunnies have disappeared! But have no fear; Mama Bunny is in pursuit. Little ones can come along with her at Nashville Childrenā€™s Theatre (25 Middleton St., Nashville) as she travels to Mr. MacGregorā€™s garden following a trail of lettuce leaves in this interactive, immersive play. The bunny bunch is reunited in time for tea with the help of a little, resourceful friend. The show runs through June 30 on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. A Snuggery four-pack costs $15.

 

Tuesday, March 19 – Saturday, March 23

Cheekwoodā€™s toddler program returns in 2024 on Tuesday through Saturday mornings, March 9 through May 28 at Cheekwood (1200 Forrest Park Drive, Nashville). Included are hands-on activities, storytimes (at 10, 10:45 and 11:30 a.m.) and more in the Bracken Foundation Childrenā€™s Garden from 10 a.m. ā€“ 12 p.m. The fun runs for approximately 15 ā€“ 20 minutes. New this year: join a member of the garden staff at 11:45 a.m. as they feed the turtles and answer questions about the gardenā€™s shelled residents. Note: Saturday, March 9 coincides with the opening of Cheekwood in Bloom.

 

Saturday, March 23

Zipline through trees lit up by glow attire, colored LED lights, music and more at TheĀ Adventure Park at NashvilleĀ (801 Percy Warner Blvd., Nashville) beginning at 5 p.m. Your ticket includes 30 minutes for a Safety Briefing and Self Harnessing session plus two hours of self guided climbing in the trees! Cost is $45.

Sunday, March 24

Join The Frist Art Museum (919 Broadway, Nashville) for a day of performances, art making, music and more. Artists will host an artistsā€™ market and speak about their works in the exhibition. There will also be art-making activities in the Martin ArtQuest Gallery; food trucks; games; a photobooth and more. Admission is free for members and guests ages 18 and younger. Cost is $15 for adults.

 

Sunday, March 24

The Brooklyn Bowl opens its doors for kids and parents for The Rock and Roll Playhouseā€™s Music of The Beatles for Kids. The show opener is singer/songwriter Jessie Baylin who will perform songs from her childrenā€™s record,Ā Strawberry Wind. This special Rock and Roll Playhouse production also benefits for the Out of The Woods Foundation which supports children with brain and/or spinal cord injury and Monroe Carell Jr. Childrenā€™s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

 

Sunday, March 24

Bring your little ones out for the Nashville Symphony Family Series at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center (1 Symphony Place, Nashville). Join Mason and his friends for a musical and scientific scavenger hunt through the many exhibits that make any museum special in this concert with music and story by Karen LeFrak based on her book of the same name. Concert starts at 3 p.m.Ā Starting at 2 p.m., enjoy free, family-friendly pre-concert activities, including crafts and an interactive instrument petting zoo!Ā Tickets start at $20.

Hippity hoppity, Easter is coming up! Find a community Easter Egg Hunt in Middle Tennessee, grab the kids and the baskets and go huntin’.
