The wacky and beloved festival will move to a full weekend of activities taking place between Thursday, August 6th and Sunday, August 9th. Previously, the festival has been out on the streets celebrating, this year we are changing it up to keep everyone safe. Traditionally taking place in the five points area over several city blocks, this year the festival will look a little different, featuring a combination of in-person and online events.

9 Days of Virtual Fun With The Williamson County Fair

From Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 15, celebrate Williamson County's agricultural heritage with 9 days of online fun, education and entertainment.

Exhibits are open to kids of Williamson County and surrounding counties in categories such as arts, crafts, photography, textiles, canning, Lego builds, decorated baked goods, horticulture and field crops.

This story is shared in conjunction with the exhibition Jitish Kallat: Return to Sender.

Adventure Science Center's Backyard Bash

Soak up that last bit of summer at Adventure Science Center's backyard bash! Check out some special summer science experiments, maker activities, games and live science shows, all set up outside to allow for safer social distancing and tons of outdoor fun. Design and launch your own rocket, build and test a tiny boat, make some giant bubbles and learn how to tye-dye with our Maker Space educators. Special Live Science presentations will occur at 1 and 3 p.m.

$18 for adults (13+) and $14 for children (2-12) / free for members (this includes GA admission to the museum)

Wild About Mushrooms II

Learn the basics of mushroom cultivation for three species of edible mushrooms on logs at Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary. The team will cover log selection, timing, spore selection, inoculation methods, care of the logs, harvesting and storage of the mushrooms. All this will be covered while the group actually performs the task to inoculate their own logs.
