Race with friends and family and try to βBeat the Leprechaun!β This a new challenge for the 7th annual Special Kids Race, which takes place Saturday, March 17. The race brings more than 3,000 walkers and runners together for one very special reason β the children at Special Kids. There are three different distances β 15K, 5K and a one-mile fun run. It all starts at 7 a.m. at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic (1272 Garrison Drive, Murfreesboro). The new βBeat the Leprechaunβ challenge encourages every runner/walker to pass the leprechaun. For everyone that does, Hooper Fence Company will donate $1 per racer. Cost to join the race is $45 for the 15K, $40 for the 5K and $20 for the one-mile fun run.
About Special Kids Race
The race is an annual fundraiser for the local nonprofit Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center. The race revenue is 20% of the $1.4 million dollars needed annually to help keep operations up and running at Special Kids. In addition, race participants, teams and even those not in the race can help children with special needs by joining βImpact Special Kids.β Impact Special Kids is an online fundraising community that helps supporters turn their creative fundraising ideas into a reality. Impact members can participate as individuals or create their own team.
