Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023 turkey runs, walks and trots!
Franklin Turkey Trot
Now in its 24th year, this Thanksgiving Day tradition — benefitting Graceworks which provides food, shelter and support to local neighbors in need — is a family feel-good, do-good time. More than 3,000 participants run/walk the 10k, 5k, or 1k Kids Turkey Chase (for ages 9 and under) each year through the heart of Cool Springs. Each Trotter crosses the finish line knowing that a local family now has food, shelter and support because they ran for GraceWorks. Head to Meridian Cool Springs in Franklin (2000 Meridian Boulevard, Franklin) to register the day of, or simply go to the website to make a donation. Cost is $50 for the 10k; $45 for the 5k and the Kids’ 1k Turkey Chase is $15.

Music City Turkey Trot 5K and 1-Mile Waddle
Register in advance to save! A costume contest, and dog-friendly event (leashes required), this family fun event is a great way to kick off your Thanksgiving holiday. Registration includes finisher medals and long-sleeved shirts for all participants. Meet at Nissan Stadium (1 Titans Way, Nashville). The Turkey Trok 5K is $40 for adults and $25 for ages 4 – 18; the Music City 1 Mile Waddle is $25 a person.
Nashville Turkey Trot
With the 5K options sold out for this year, you can still register for the 10K, the Kid’s 8 and younger 100 Meter Dash or a virtual run. Benefits Special Olympics Tennessee. Registration is from 7 – 8 a.m. — everyone gets a Fox’s Donut Den donut at the finish line. Head to Wave Country, 2320 2 Rivers Parkway in Nashville.

Borodash
Families can enjoy this four-mile walk/run through historic Murfreesboro before filling up on turkey and fixin’s. Meet downtown at the Library Plaza (105 W Vine St, Murfreesboro). Day-of registration is from 6:30 – 7 a.m. Race starts at 8 a.m. Cost is $40 in the month of November; $45 day of race.
