Honoring children not for who they will become, but for who they already are.
Little Blue Theatre Company makes inclusive, professional theatre for and with young people in Nashville, from birth through age 18. We don't have a building, because our work happens in schools, parks, libraries, and community centers — where young people and families already visit.
Play is how we teach, and much of our work is devised. Young people start from a shared story, a picture book, folktale, or poem, and build their own response to it, honoring where it came from while making it fully theirs.
What we offer:
• Summer, fall break, and spring break camps for ages 6-18
• Saturday classes during the school year
• Youth ensembles for ages 8-18 that rehearse and perform full productions
• Sensory-friendly professional plays for families each season
• Touring shows for schools, libraries, and community spaces
How we support:
• Free before and after care at full-day camps
• At least 20% of every class is reserved for scholarship students
Every class and every show is built so kids can take part in the way that works for them. Our Teaching Artists are trained in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and sensory-friendly practice. If you're not sure a program is the right fit for your kid, email us at [email protected] and we'll talk it through.
Because play is serious work.
