Your family can experience spectacular views from the sky next month during the first-ever Boro Balloon Fest, taking place Aug. 2 – 4 from 12 – 9 p.m. This all-ages event is rain or shine at The Grove at Williamson Place.
HOT AIR BALLOON RIDES
Several hot air balloons will light up the sky offering adventure flights, tethered rides and evening balloon glows. Limited tickets are available. Tethered rides take place Aug. 2 – 3 at 3 p.m.; untethered adventure flights are Aug. 2 – 4; and nightly balloon glows (included with general admission) begin at 7 p.m. each night.
A separate “flight” ticket is required for balloon rides, and each passenger must sign a waiver before getting in the air crafts. Passengers must also be able to stand upright in the hot air balloon baskets. Tethered rides are $20 per person. You are lifted 80 – 90 feet in the air and hover for several minutes. Untethered adventure flights are $250 per person; riders will spend one to two hours in the air at heights of 3,000 feet and higher. Balloon-ride tickets are refundable if weather prevents flights.
FESTIVAL FUN
Among the glow of the balloons, families can also enjoy food trucks, live music, craft activities, a photo booth, hayrides, sand art, slime creation stations and more. August is also the time the sunflowers bloom at The Grove, so be ready for colorful photo ops.
The Grove at Williamson Place is located at 3250 Wilkinson Pike, Murfreesboro. General admission is $20 per vehicle per day (non-refundable).
