Have you ever seen a polo match? If not, come out with your family to enjoy the 21st Annual Chukkers for Charity polo match on Saturday, Aug. 26 at Riverview Farm in Franklin. Benefiting the Rochelle Center (the local organization that support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities) and Saddle Up! , (the nonprofit that provides therapeutic horse activities for children with disabilities), Chukkers has raised more than $2 million since it began and has grown to become one of the areaβs largest benefits.
Chukkers Family Fun
Chukkers for Charity includes a lot of fun for families. Starting at 2 p.m. (gates open at 1 p.m. for tail gaters) a silent auction will run throughout the day. The polo match (teams are yet to be announced) starts at 3 p.m. During half time, families can participate in the “stomping of the divotsβ and kids can do the childrenβs stick horse race and enjoy a petting zoo. Also during the half, classic cars will drive the polo field before returning to their original spots around the “corral.” Sit on bleachers to watch the match or bring your own chairs and blankets. Bring your own stocked coolers, too; no food or drink vendors will be at the event.
Chukkers for Charity takes place at Riverview Farm (1475 Moran Road, Franklin). General admission is $20 per person (patron level tickets, cabanas and more are available for additional fees).
