Look no further than the Williamson County Archives & Museum, tucked right in the heart of historic downtown Franklin at the Five Points intersection. It's the kind of place that turns a slow summer afternoon into an adventure. And best of all, admission is always free, and on-site parking is available.

This family-friendly museum is open to everyone and invites visitors to explore exhibits featuring the industries, people, and communities that have shaped the history and development of Williamson County, Tennessee. The new Founding Voices: America 250 exhibit highlights Founding Fathers Benjamin Franklin and Hugh Williamson, the namesakes of Franklin and Williamson County. From little ones just beginning to discover the world around them to older kids who are starting to connect with their roots, there's something here to spark curiosity in every age group.

The Archives collection dates all the way back to the founding of Williamson County in 1799, providing a rich window into Middle Tennessee's past. History isn't just something in a textbook here; it's on display, tangible, and alive.

Before you head home, don't miss a stop outside the building, where a bronze statue called Ben on the Bench, created by renowned sculptor George Lundeen, honors the City of Franklin's namesake, Benjamin Franklin. The seated figure invites visitors to pause, sit, and reflect alongside the founding father, a perfect photo op for the whole family!
