Where Every Family Matters

Earth Experience Turns 5!

If you're unaware of the T-Rex living in Murfreesboro, you can see him at Earth Experience. The growing museum celebrates it's 5th year!

Dino-loving kids have some roar-some good news to hear! Earth Experience: Middle Tenneessee Museum of Natural History celebrates it's fifth birthday. In celebration of the milestone, the museum will offer FREE admission all day Thursday, Sept. 19 — with a canned food donation. The donated food will be given to the local food pantry. At 2 p.m., there will also be a short dedication ceremony for the portrait of museum co-founder, Lewis Elrod. What's a birthday without cake? Following the ceremony, visitors can enjoy a slice of cake (while supplies last!).

Earth Experience is the only place around to see a 38-foot T-Rex and real dinosaur bones. The museum also has displays from all over the world, but has a very large number of items from Tennessee. See dinosaurs, fossils, gems, minerals, rocks and archeological relics. It's more than just a museum experience, too. Kids can enjoy workshops as well as special events throughout the year. Admission to Earth Experience is $7 adult, $3 ages 4 – 11, free ages 3 and younger. Hours are Thu – Sat 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Earth Experience is located at 816 Old Salem Road, Murfreesboro. Call 615-605-1417 or visit theearthexperience.org.
