Nashville Shakespeare Festival

The Nashville Shakespeare Festival brings the Bard back to Music City for another round of Summer Shakespeare at ) Thursdays through Sundays (plus Labor Day), Aug. 21 – Sept. 21. This year, enjoy The Merry Wives of Windsor, a Shakespearean comedy that explores themes of marriage, playful revenge and everlasting friendship. The Festival is a free event (with a suggested $10 per person donation per show). Each evening will begin with food vendors at 5:15, “Insight” talk at 5:30, Pre-show concert at 6 and the main performance at 7 p.m.
About The Merry Wives of Windsor
The Merry Wives of Windsor is a tale of mischief and double-dealing where women get the last laugh. Falstaff decides to fix his financial woe by seducing the wives of two wealthy merchants, Mistress Page and Mistress Ford. The wives find that Sir John Falstaff sent them each identical letters and plot to take revenge by playing tricks on him when he comes calling.
