Where Every Family Matters

Family Events at Barfield Crescent Park

The popular Barfield Beach Party returns, plus World Turtle Day at The Wilderness Station, a family campout and more.

Barfield Crescent Park always has fun community events for families, and May is no exception. Some are inside at The Wilderness Station nature center, others are outdoors in the park!

In case you didn’t know, The Wilderness Station is home to several native education animals, and there are always free educational backpacks for checkout! Each backpack has a different theme and includes specific learning material and programs surrounding the theme. In addition, Barfield is the headquarters of Outdoor Murfreesboro, a department of Murfreesboro Parks and Rec that specializes in environmental education and outdoor recreation.
