Franklin Fire Department Open House Set

Turn up the heat at this family-friendly open house with Franklin Fire Department.

The community is invited to attend the Franklin Fire Department’s Open House on Saturday, September 6, from 10 a.m. to noon at Franklin Fire Station 6 (located at 1061 Cool Springs Blvd., Franklin).

This free, family-friendly event will open with a brief 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and include exciting demonstrations and activities, including a new fire truck Wetdown Ceremony!

Franklin Fire Department Open House Highlights

  • 10 a.m. – Join for a 9/11 remembrance honoring the 24th anniversary with a multi-agency Honor Guard, bagpipes and a performance by the Legacy Middle School Band.
  • 10:30 a.m. – Watch a live fire demonstration by the National Fire Sprinkler Association and see firsthand how fire sprinklers can make a lifesaving difference
  • 11 a.m. – Celebrate the arrival of new Tower 6 with a traditional Wetdown Ceremony. Kids of all ages are welcome to help wash the truck and join the fun!

Ongoing Activities Throughout the Event

  • Station tours
  • Emergency vehicle and equipment demonstrations
  • Grilled hotdogs courtesy of Atmos Energy
  • Sweet treats from the Retro Sno shaved ice truck
  • Giveaways for both kids and adults
