There’s something kind of magical about tossing a few blankets in the car, grabbing the kids and a couple of friends, and heading out for free outdoor movies in Middle Tennessee. The air’s still warm, fireflies are starting to show off, and everyone’s a little more relaxed than usual. Kids run around, adults settle in with snacks and for a couple of hours, it feels like the simplest, happiest version of summer. No tickets, no fuss — just a big screen under the stars and a shared excuse to slow down and enjoy being together.

This free, family friendly summer movie series is a tradition that started in 1947. This year, movies run weekly beginning June 1, and the movie shows at a different park on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights.
