An annual Sumner County tradition, the Gallatin Gobble Turkey Shoot is set to return on Saturday, November 11 on the grounds of the Gallatin Civic Center. Registration begins at 8 a.m., shooting rounds begin at 9 a.m. and awards will be presented at 11 a.m. Ages 12 and up welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian.
What’s a turkey shoot?
- Contestants shoot at paper targets 30 yards away (ammo provided)
- Contestants closest to the center of the target wins for the round
Basic Rules
- No outside ammo
- No alcohol
- 30-yard turkey shoot
- No scopes
- No dots
- 36-inch barrel or less
- Open sites only
- 680 restrictions
- Bring your own gun (12ga, 20ga, 28ga, and .410ga allowed)
