Gallatin Gobble Turkey Shoot to Return Nov. 11

The local turkey shoot draws sportsmen and novices alike as Thanksgiving approaches.

An annual Sumner County tradition, the Gallatin Gobble Turkey Shoot is set to return on Saturday, November 11 on the grounds of the Gallatin Civic Center. Registration begins at 8 a.m., shooting rounds begin at 9 a.m. and awards will be presented at 11 a.m. Ages 12 and up welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian.

What’s a turkey shoot?

  • Contestants shoot at paper targets 30 yards away (ammo provided)
  • Contestants closest to the center of the target wins for the round

Basic Rules

  • No outside ammo
  • No alcohol
  • 30-yard turkey shoot
  • No scopes
  • No dots
  • 36-inch barrel or less
  • Open sites only
  • 680 restrictions
  • Bring your own gun (12ga, 20ga, 28ga, and .410ga allowed)
