About the Grand Kyiv Ballet’s “Giselle”
A young peasant girl (Giselle) and a nobleman in disguise fall in love. But when the nobleman’s true identity is revealed to his rival, Hilarion, Giselle goes mad and dies of heartbreak. After her death, Giselle is brought forth by the sisterhood of the Wilis (ghosts of unmarried women who died after betrayal by their lovers). Together they take revenge by dancing the men to death. But what will happen to Giselle?

The ballet is an independent touring ballet company made up of Ukrainian ballet dancers temporarily working out of the International Ballet Academy in Bellevue, Washington while in refuge from the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
