Hummingbird Festival Returns to Murfreesboro

Celebrate these little birdies at The Wilderness Station in Murfreesboro later this month!

The annual hummingbird festival returns to Murfreesboro later this month at Barfield Crescent Park on Saturday, August 31, 2024. There will be children’s activities, guest speakers, hummingbird merchandise and more!

This festival is also part of an ongoing study to get a better understanding of things like the two migration periods for the bird.

Hundreds of hummingbirds can routinely be found at Barfield Crescent Park this time of year, filling up on nectar and insects before making their way south. In a search for resources, it is not unusual for the hummingbird to fly to places like Mexico and other countries within Central America where they spend their winter.

The event is free and open to all ages.
