Let’s Go Berry Picking!

Several area farms offer pick-your-own berry fun. Strawberry season starts at the end of April/first of May, so make your plans now!


Kids love outings to local farms to enjoy the fun of berry picking, and Middle Tennessee boasts many locations where your family can enjoy spring and summer harvesting.

According to the Tennessee Harvest Calendar, the typical crop availability for strawberries is the beginning of May through mid-June. Blackberries, blueberries and raspberries are ripe for the picking mid-July through the end of August. Find a farm below in your area, and always call ahead to confirm availability due to weather.

And don't forget the sunscreen before you head out to pick!


Green Door Gourmet
7007 River Road Pike, Nashville

Pick your own strawberries every Saturday in May from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The $10 admission includes one quart of strawberries; additional quarts and buckets available for purchase. Stawberry Pickin' Parties take place every Wednesday in May from 5 – 9 p.m. They are also $10 and include one quart of strawberries. In addition to berry picking, the Wednesday night parties also include live music on select nights, barn bingo, food trucks, local vendors and a cash bar.


Pantall Farm
2781 Carter's Creek Station, Columbia

Pick-your-own strawberries are $2.75 per pound. Check the farm's Facebook page for hours and availability.


Busy Bee's Blueberry Patch
2450 Bowie Road, Greenbrier

The patch's blueberry season runs late June to late July. Cost is $20 per gallon. Appointments are required to insure there are plenty of berries to pick. Follow their Facebook page for days and hours.


Batey Farms
5331 Baker Road, Murfreesboro (strawberries)
3250 Wilkinson Pike, Murfreesboro (blackberries & blueberries)

Strawberry picking is available late April to early June. Hours are Tue – Fri 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sat 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., Sun 1 – 5 p.m. Cost is $3.75 per pound. Pick blackberries and blueberries mid-June – July. Cost is $4 per pound.


Bottom View Farm
185 Wilkerson Lane, Portland

Strawberries available May – June. Blackberries and Blueberries ripe in July. Admission to the farm is $10 ages 3 and older Pick-your-own berries are $2 per pound.

Bradley Kountry Acres
650 Jake Linke Road, Cottontown

The farm hasn't pinpointed an exact date for strawberries yet, but it estimates early May. Blackberries available in summer.

Cooper Creek Farm
345 Gibbs Lane, Gallatin

The farm estimates strawberry picking to start at the end of April. Cost is $2 per pound (subject to change based on harvest).


Boyd Mill Farm
3395 Blazer Road, Franklin

Blackberry picking begins July 1. Call for hours and pricing.

Golden Bell Blueberry Farm
4080 Clovercroft Road, Franklin

The farm estimates blueberry picking to being at the end of June/early July, running through the first weekend of April. Hours are Wed – Sat 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. Cost is $3 per pound.


Circle S Farms
1627 Old Laguardo Road E., Lebanon

The farm estimates strawberry picking to start during the last week of April. Blackberries and blueberries this summer. Follow the farm's Facebook page for updates.
