Where Every Family Matters

Murfreesboro Christmas Tree Lighting Goes Virtual

Make plans with your family and friends to stay warm in your home and celebrate the holidays.

On the first Friday night of December, holiday revelers usually gather around the courthouse for the annual lighting of the Rutherford County Christmas tree in Downtown Murfreesboro. Main Street organizes this event, which typically features entertainment, caroling, the lighting of the tree, and a visit from Santa.

This year due to COVID-19, Main Street and the Rutherford County Courthouse will be hosting the event virtually.

Watch the Holiday Spectacular program virtually on Murfreesboro CityTV December 4 at 6:30 p.m. The pre-recorded program will showcase area celebrities, singers, dancers, storytellers, and of course Santa, ending with a live tree lighting with Santa and the County Mayor.

Make plans with your family and friends to stay warm in your home and watch the program as we kick off the Holiday season.
