Where Every Family Matters

New Inclusive Playground Opens in Westmoreland

A new adaptive playground is now open for ALL kids at CrossRoads Church.

It’s such a good thing that all-inclusive playgrounds are a big part of Middle Tennessee fun for ALL kids. At CrossRoads Church — located in Westmoreland (about an hour northeast of downtown Nashville — has a new adaptive playground is now open for play, according to the CrossRoads Facebook page. Pastor Chuck Workman is thrilled.

“It bridges and brings families together; just being a part of and strengthening our community is our goal,” Workman told News Channel 2 in an on-air interview.

The playground is American With Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant and includes swings that will incline and sensory walls for autistic children. The playground equipment was manufactured by Playworld, a Pennsylvania-based commercial playground equipment manufacturer. It was built with the help of a CrossRoads volunteer team.

While the playground is now open for play, an adjacent pavilion is still to come for community gatherings. To contribute to the Pray to Play Playground Campaign, go here.

The adaptive playground is located on the church property at 524 New Highway 31 E Westmoreland, TN 37186. Learn more about CrossRoads Church.
