Music lovers can rejoice that the Pilgrimage Festival has more tickets available for this weekend! On Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 24, throngs of music fans of all ages will fill the Park at Harlinsdale for a weekend of music and crafts that’s now one of the biggest festival draws in the area. There’s lots in store for all ages.

Just for Kids
Kids can expect a terrific event this year. Grammy-nominated Ralph Covert (ralphsworld.com) anchors the line up. Covert has a new new CD out — Time Machine Guitar — and he’ll perform new songs from the record to get kids dancing on the spot.
The kids’ fun happens in The Vanderbilt Health Lil Pilgrim’s Family Stage and Mare Barn Theatre. Performers include Red Yarn (folk music and puppetry); Steve Elci and Friends (pop and participation); Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers (rollicking pirate music & jigs) and others.
While kids can sample Go Go Squeeze yogurt, you’ll have to spring for additional food (no outside food is allowed at the fest) available on site. Kids can create glow-in-the-dark “sound bracelets” in the expanded arts area, courtesy of the Frist Center for Visual Arts and enjoy other crafty activities.
“We’ve expanded our activities stage, renaming it ‘Storyville,’ Covert says, “And we’ll have a full slate of activities and workshops for young guests, including sessions in improv, puppet and magic shows and a kids’ songwriting workshop.”
Returning to the festival are the popular pirate play ship, face painting and balloon fun.
