Registration Open for Girls EYH Conference

Middle and high school girls who love science can connect with fellow peers during the annual EYH in Math and Science at MTSU.

Is your girl a math wiz or science guru? Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) offers its annual Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) in Science and Mathematics Conference — and registration is open! This hands-on conference is STEM focused and aims to help girls consider careers in STEM. It takes place Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. It's available to girls in grades 5 – 12. There are two different schedules that groups the girls in grades 5 – 8 and grades 9 – 12. Workshops vary from aviation with Dr. Wendy Beckman; genetics with Dr. Rebecca Seipelt; physics; chemistry and more.

This year's keynote speaker is Cheryl Holdaway of Newell Brands, Manchester. Ms. Holdaway is also known as the Sharpie Chemist.

Cost is a $20 non-refundable registration fee. The registration fee covers all materials including a lunch (two slices of pepperoni or cheese pizza and a beverage). If your child is allergic to the provided lunch, please be sure to send a lunch for her. For more information, contact Dr. Judith Iriarte-Gross at eyh@mtsu.edu or 615-494-7763.
