Where Every Family Matters

Replay Toys is FUN!

Got a vintage toy collector on your holiday gift list? Find something nostalgic and cool at Hendersonville's new hot spot.

Do you ever want to kick yourself for selling your toys in a garage sale when you were a kid. You know, when you became "too big" for toys, so you just got rid of them?  Now that you're older, you have a deeper appreciation for them and wish you still had them? Replay Toys in Hendersonville has got your back. This great new spot provides an experience that's an exquisite dose of nostalgia. It's something fun to share with your kids.

Replay Toys — a buy, sell, trade business — is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Eric and Jenny Hoagland. The parents of seven recently opened the storefront location. “We’ve been selling online for nine years and needed a place to put this stuff,” says Jenny. “We love having the store because it allows us to develop relationships with the people we buy, sell and trade with,” she adds. The museum-like store is cool blast from the past, bursting with vintage toys and collectibles going back to the ‘60s. A hefty portion of the inventory is representative of toys from the ‘70s and ‘80s — everything from classic Fisher Price characters and Weebles playsets and Masters of the Universe to Star Wars and Care Bears … and a whole lot more. You'll find gently used toys to ones that are mint still in their original packaging (never opened).

“We’re like Play it Again Sports for toys,” says Eric, noting that they sell more to adults than kids. Replay does include a select collection of contemporary toys (we noticed the Stranger Things action figures and Frozen dolls while there). Kids are welcome to bring in the toys they no longer play with for store credit or cash. If there’s something specific you long for from your youth, chances are you’ll find it at Replay. If it’s not there, the Hoaglands will track it down for you. Replay Toys is located on the backside of City Square at 260 W. Main St., Ste. 118 (follow the signs around to the back behind Roma Pizza). Current hours are Mon – Fri 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sat 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., but call ahead as this family business keeps flexible hours. They’re also looking for a new location soon.
