More summer adventures are on the horizon for kids at Historic Rock Castle in July with the return of two popular day camps.
FRONTIER CAMP
Dates: July 16 – 19
Ages: 8 – 12
Cost: $145 ($135 siblings)
Campers go back in time to experience life as frontier people like Daniel and Sarah Smith, founders of Rock Castle. Kids learn an assortment of skills like building a fire from scratch, knot tying, survival fishing and trapping, primitive shelter building, orienteering, target shooting, paddling and more. Campers get to kayak and swim in the Rock Castle cove each day, too!
AMERICAN GIRL CAMP
Dates: July 23 – 26
Ages: 6 – 12
Cost: $145 ($135 siblings)
NOTE: This camp is currently full, but you can get on the waiting list by e-mailing jess.gilbert@historicrockcastle.com
Children explore what being an American girl has meant through history up to modern day. They’ll experience fun and learning through crafts, games and other activities. From Kaya, a Native American girl in 1764, to Tenney Grant, a contemporary singer/songwriter who grew up in Nashville, diversity is a big theme of this camp where kids learn how everyone’s uniqueness creates the tapestry that makes America.
