In its 26th year of publication as Middle Tennessee's number one source of parenting news and information, Nashville Parent continues its winning streak with more golden nods. Nashville Parent is published by Day Communications, Inc., a local family-owned company comprised of editors, designers and sales staff.
Nashville Parent brought home 10 national awards from the Parenting Media Association's (PMA) annual conference that took place Feb. 27 – 29 in St. Pete Beach, Florida. The PMA is a nonprofit that has represented the regional family media market since 1988. PMA received 566 entries in its PMA Design and Editorial Awards that encompass both print and digital products from around the country. Professor Reuben Stern of the University of Missouri's School of Journalism once again oversaw a panel of judges for the awards.
“This year’s winning entries once again showcase the PMA publications’ strength in offering practical and frank advice on tough subjects, as well as extensive suggestions for off-the-radar activities that expand children’s horizons.” says Stern. “Amid a sea of questionable material online, these articles are packed with reliable information from experts and primary sources. The stories also validate and inspire parents by giving a window into the lives of others dealing with similar challenges," he adds.
