The big festival day is Saturday, May 11, and there's a whole week's worth of fun in Portland leading up to it.

Get ready to celebrate spring’s favorite fruit during the 78th Annual Middle Tennessee Strawberry Festival in downtown Portland. The main festival is Saturday, May 11. It kicks off at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast before the Strawberry Stride 5K at 8 a.m.

The festival itself runs from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. featuring more than 125 local vendors, children’s activities, strawberry eating contests, live music, mascot meet and greets, a carnival and fireworks at night … and, of course, local farmers on site selling their succulent strawberries!

A LOT OF PRE-FESTIVAL FAMILY FUN

But wait, there’s more! Leading up to the main festival is a week’s worth of related happenings. The Middle Tennessee Strawberry Pageant takes place Saturday, May 4 at Portland High School. That night in the high school gym is the Strawberry Slam wrestling bout featuring Jeff Jarrett.
